Project management by itself is a tedious matter but unfortunately, there are other mistakes that project managers make that make their job even more tedious.

One of the examples that are most common is ‘befriending everyone’. I am very well aware that all PMs need to take care of their stakeholders, but it says a bold YES! to everyone is never a good idea, and it can result in a catastrophic domino effect.

The client, the sponsor and everyone else must be able to trust and respect us for our character and we are known for fulfilling our commitments.

You need to be friendly with your team so that you create a collaborative environment in which everyone feels safe and is always willing to contribute. But, on the other hand, it is also very important that the team understands the ground rules and respects you as a leader.
